Goal(s)
During these practical works, it will be necessary to discover methods for measuring the main properties of paper.
Learning outcomes :
- To characterize the morphological and physical properties (mechanical, optical and structural) of fibrous materials
- To understand the contextual properties of the paper (weight, thickness, apparent mass volume, air permeability) and its mechanical properties (tension, tearing, bursting)
- To characterize the optical properties of papers: degree of whiteness, opacity, fluorescence.
- To apply methods to measure the main properties of papers and surface conditions (airflow and gloss)
- To collect and process data, interpret and analyse the results, and present a written and oral summary of their work
