Goals

Convince students that continual improvement is a necessary condition to expand organisms and that it is obtained by applying obvious principles that are applicable by everyone.
At the end of the course, students will:
- have used some quality management tools (KJ, QFD, 5M, brainstorming);
- understand the ISO 9001 management system requirements
- have written a typical procedure.

Chapter 1. Background, management systems, principles, approaches - Communication, general semantics
Chapter 2. ISO 9001 standard - Principles described in its chapters - Processes and ratios - Implementing a management system in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard - Quality improvement - Audits
Chapter 3. Quality management tools (brainstorming, problem solving, 5M, KJ, QFD).
At least 2 guided work (group of students) out of the following 3 : KJ ((affinity diagram); QFD (quality function deployment) ; brainstorming or "5 M" methodology.



Prerequisites

None, but an experience in a company will be useful.

Tests

Graded homework (groups of 2 or 3 students) : write a typical procedure used to implement a quality management system.
Can be made up if the lack of delivery of the homework is justified.



La note finale est celle obtenue pour le devoir à la maison.
The final grade is obtained from the homework.
