Conference from October 29, 2014 to October 31, 2014

Organized by the LGP2, Grenoble INP-Pagora, CTP (Centre Technique du Papier) and ATIP (French technical association of the paper industry), the 2014 International Pulp Bleaching Conference (IPBC) will be held in Grenoble, France, on October 29-31, 2014.

The IPBC conference, organized every three years, is the most important conference where the latest developments in chemical pulp bleaching are shared and discussed. Sponsored by the main pulp and paper international organizations, it attracts not only scientists active in the field, but also suppliers and industry representatives.

The scientific programme for the 2014 IPBC will consist of keynote lectures, plenary technical sessions and poster sessions. Presented papers are expected to cover the following topics:
  • Bleachability of chemical pulps.
  • Optimum balance between cooking and bleaching.
  • Bleaching and purification of dissolving grade pulps.
  • Advances in bleaching sequences.
  • Recent technological developments for bleaching stages.
  • New bleaching agents.
  • Catalysis of bleaching stages.
  • Last developments in biobleaching processes.
  • New aspects in bleaching chemistry.
  • Chemical structure of chromophores.
  • New analytical techniques for bleaching studies.
  • Impact of bleaching on pulp and cellulose properties.
  • Improvement of brightness stability.
  • Management of bleaching effluents.
Those interested in presenting a paper to the conference, orally or as poster, are required to submit a 2-page extended abstract by March 31, 2014. Only original papers will be retained. It is recommended that the extended abstract contains 1 or 2 key figures or tables illustrating the interest of the proposed contribution.

Notification of acceptance is expected by mid-May 2014 and full paper versions will have to be received by mid-August, 2014.
