Goal(s)

A - Heabox

  • To know and understand the role of the headbox and the main operating parameters
  • To observe and quantify the effect of several geometrical parameters and operating parameters, thanks to experimental work (data collection and treatment)
  • To know and understand the hydraulics of the papermachine approach system
  • To be able to operate a pilot system (headbox circuits).

B - Characterisation of fibrous suspension flows

  • To know and understand the specific behaviour of fibre suspension flows:
    ** The different regimes
    ** The equilibrium of the circuit (compared to the case with water only)
  • To be able to operate a pilot system.

Content(s)

A - Headbox

  • Study of the design of the pilot system
  • Study of the velocity of the flow in the different parts of the circuit
  • Study of the pressure distribution in the circuit
  • Study of the jet delivered by the headbox.

B - Fibre suspension flows

  • Study of the circuits
  • Study of the pressure in the circuit (comparison with water only)
  • Study of the different flow regimes as a function of the suspension concentration
  • Comparison with data from the literature.

Port de chaussures à talon plat fermées (chaussures de sécurité de préférence) Consignes sécurité et environnement spécifiques données en début de séance une fois le plan de travail établi. Pour le TP caisse de tête, de protections auditives obligatoire lorsque le pilote fonctionne
