The different tertiary effluent treatment processes: membrane, ion exchange, advanced oxidation and electrochemical processes. The choices and dimensions of these processes according to specifications.
1. Baro-membrane and electro-membrane processes (tangential microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, gas permeation, (electro-) electrodialysis). Industrial applications: water treatment, food industry, electrochemistry. Use of classical models for design processes.
2. The ion exchange processes are presented in a very general way. Exchange theory, exchange capacity, operating stability and exchange of theoretical plates, with the objective to design installations. Examples of industrial applications with advantages and limitations.
