Practical work carried out on semi-industrial pilots
These teaching conditions are very close to the actual operating conditions of the processes as well as to the classical dysfunctions observed in industry. Students are thus faced with non-ideal facilities.
Aerobic biological treatment
This pilot simulates an urban or industrial wastewater treatment plant and operates with an activated sludge process. Continuous instrumentation and monitoring ensure that the process is monitored.
Sensors
Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
pH probe
Flowmeter inlet effluent

Sludge Recycling
Ventilation by bubbling
Adjusting pH
Input rate
Handling
Measurement COD, MES, BOD
Monitoring of sludge quality
Evaluation of oxygen transfer
Membrane treatment
This pilot has three different membrane cartridges to illustrate the operation of various fine and very fine separation processes. The reverse osmosis and nanofiltration cartridges show the interests of both in the separation of salts and water. The ultrafiltration cartridge is used in industrial projects for treatment tests.

Comparative study OI and NF for monovalent and divalent salts
Modeling of permeate flows
Physico-chemical treatment
This pilot simulates the operation of a primary treatment by coagulation and flocculation, followed by a lamellar decantation. The experiments are carried out on bench-top in a first time then on the pilot to apprehend the change of behavior between laboratory tests and full-scale operations.
Sensors
Flowmeters
Turbidity sensor
Handling
Tests in jar test to optimize the doses of coagulant and flocculant
Driver override with scaling
Evaluation of the effect of different parameters on the quality of treatment
Ion exchange treatment
This pilot simulates the treatment of effluent or salt water by ion exchange in order to understand the phenomena of exchange (drilling front) and to visualize the problems related to the regeneration of resins after use.
The process is applied to desalination of water.

Electrodialysis treatment
This electromembrane pilot is equipped with a dialysis membrane. It has three compartments and can be used in different types of process. Its application is carried out on the regeneration of acid and base solutions from saline solutions. The effects of pressure, current and concentrations are studied.
