Goal(s)

Learning outcomes :

To apply Laplace and Fourier transformations to solve problems that can be presented as linear differential equations with constant coefficients (see example of the automation of linear and continuous systems), using complex numbers and polynomial roots to obtain simplified rational fractions of polynomials

Responsible(s)

Jean-Claude ROUX

Content(s)

Applications of Laplace and Fourier Transforms.
Very often, in process engineering, the physical phenomena are described by linear differential équations where the coefficients are constant. The main objective of the course is to apply the Laplace transform in order to solve analytically this class of problems. The process control theory of linear dynamical systems is given as a matter of exemple. The symetrical character of the main theorems is also exemplified.
