Goals

Learning outcomes :

  • To program models of light/matter interaction in Excel: Kubelka and Munk, Neugebauer, Yule Nielsen, Clapper-Yule,
  • To determine printed coverage percentages using different methods: densitometric, colorimetric, non-linear optimization.

Content

At the end of this APP you must know how to use:
Models to determine the dot gain: Murray-Davies or Yule-Nielsen, colorimetric determination or determination via a solver.
Model of Kubelka Munk to predict the color of two superimposed flat surfaces,
Neugebauer model (applied to the values X, Y, Z or R (l)) and Demichel to predict colors,
Model of Neugebauer modified by Yule Nielsen (applied to the values X, Y, Z or R (l)) and Demichel to predict colors,
Clapper-Yule model,
Using an Interpolation Method

The objective is to understand the basic mathematical models used to switch from one color mode to another. At the end of this work you will have to submit a report presenting your results.
