Summary

A multidisciplinary course of excellence

Grenoble INP - Pagora offers 3 years of specialized, high-level scientific and technical training, culminating in a master's degree in engineering, with a choice of 2 specializations: Fiber and Biomaterials Engineering or Printed Communication Engineering. These 3 years include numerous projects, giving engineering students the opportunity to use cutting-edge industrial tools.

Grenoble INP - Pagora's program, which can be taken as part of a student curriculum or on a apprenticeship course, also enables students to develop skills in economics, business management and aspects of social responsibility and sustainable development.

As part of the training program, a number of technological platforms are available to put the skills acquired into practice on industrial pilots (paper machines, printing presses, cutting table, thermopress, extruder, coating bench, 3D printers), scientific equipment (environmental electron microscope, rheometers) and simulators.

Curriculum overview

1st year
SEMESTERS 5 AND 6

Core curriculum :

  • Introduction to the school's specialties, printing processes, cellulose-based materials (paper) and their applications
  • Scientific, technical and professional knowledge (engineering sciences, plant chemistry, sustainable development, process engineering)


Periods spent at the company
3 months at a partner university (courses in English) : University of Lodz (Poland).

On successful completion of the 1st year of the programme, engineering students obtain a Bachelor's degree in engineering science.

2nd year
SEMESTERS 7 AND 8

Core curriculum and specialization (Fibers and Biomaterials or Printed Communication) :

  • Scientific and technical skills in the school's specialties
  • Cross-disciplinary skills: economics, project management, production management, quality management

Conditions

  • Have completed 4 years of higher education in a scientific or technical field to enter in the 1st year.
  • Must be under 30 years when signing the apprenticeship contract
  • Be a citizen of a country in the European Economic Area or outside the European Economic Area
For international students (outside Europe): the new regulations allow you to sign a work-study contract as soon as you arrive in France. You can now apply for admission to the 1st year of our apprenticeship program with a foreign Bachelor's degree equivalent (4 years of higher education in a scientific or technical field)​​​.

Projects and internships: preparing for working life

Projects

Technical, economic, scientific, sporting or cultural, personal or collective, projects throughout the curriculum enable engineering students to develop and apply a wide range of skills. Over the course of their 3 years, students work on various projects linked to their corporate missions.
 


Problem-Based Learning

Grouped in teams, students work together to solve concrete problems prepared by teachers. They learn the theoretical and fundamental knowledge themselves, and put into practice the skills needed to solve the problem. Information gathering, knowledge acquisition, choice of direction, teamwork management, throughout its various stages, the Problem-Based Learning approach encourages students' personal work, autonomy and self-motivation, as well as their team behavior and commitment to collective work.

Board of examiners

Each semester contains 30 ECTS credits, distributed among the teaching units (EU).
The validation of ECTS is obtained by assigning a grade equal to or higher than 10/20 in each UE.

International

  • Language of instruction French. Most of the lessons of the second year given in English.

International exchange

During the 2nd semester of the first year of the apprenticeship, engineering apprentices study for 3 months at a partner university (courses in English): University of Lodz (Poland).

Most of the 2nd year courses (semesters 7 and 8) are taught in English.
Fluency in English thanks to dynamic teaching methods, powerful online tools and a state-of-the-art language laboratory.
