Spring semester - Paper sciences, biorefinery and bio-based materials

Overview

  • Degree awarded Master
  • Location
    • GRENOBLE Campus
  • Duration One semester. From February to June.

Summary

The biobased fibres and materials sector covers everything from biomass recovery (biorefineries, pulp chemistry) to the shaping of materials such as paper, biocomposites and functional materials.

During this semester, students will learn about natural fibres, biopolymers, bioproducts and biocomposites: Paper process engineering, biomass recovery and recycling, bio-based and functional materials.

Emerging themes - extraction of molecules from biomass, use of biomass in thermoplastics or thermosets, recycling and the environment - are integrated into the course.

Specificities

Classes are taught in English.

This semester gives rise to a skills certificate.
