ECTS 12.0
Goal(s)
Learning outcomes :
- To understand software development for the inkjet printing industry: Caldera solutions-market-applications, traditional printing market vs. inkjet printing market, new inkjet applications and the two inkjet technologies continuous jet (CIJ) and drop on demand (DOD)
- To know the main functions of a RIP (speed, size, color management, color separation, linearization of inks to determine a good density, screening, quality)
- To know the specificities of RIPs that transform digital files for inkjet printing, the principles of a JDF (Job Definition Format) and JMF (Job Messaging Format) workflow for the automation of production in the printing industry
- To be familiar with the data rasterization process (conversion of a vector image into a matrix image to be displayed on a screen or printed by printing equipment) and techniques using shaders
