Content(s)
After describing the context of the development of biofuels and their market, the production processes of bioethanol and biodiesel from first and second generation (from lignocellulosic substrates) are presented. The main technological barriers are identified. Prospects for development of a third generation (from algae) are discussed.
The main actors and the latest pilot and industrial achievements are mentioned.
BBasic knowledge of the structure, characteristics and chemistry of the main constituents of vegetal biomass
Writen exam (can be retaken) that counts for 50% of the mark
and oral presentation and powerpoint document for 50% of the mark (cannot be retaken)
