This new form of international study programme was inaugurated on 28 March last year in Lodz, Poland in the presence of Dorota Piotrowska, Director of Lodz University of Technology (LUT)’s International Faculty of Engineering, Séverin van Gastel, Director of Partnerships, and Frederic Munoz, responsible for the Grenoble INP — Pagora apprenticeship course.
This year once again, 19 first-year apprenticeship engineering students will be hosted by Lodz University of Technology, a Grenoble INP partner establishment offering courses with a strong emphasis on technology and industry. The students’ courses will be in English. The objective of this unique international study programme is to help students develop their ability to work abroad in a multicultural context and to develop their linguistic abilities while continuing to acquire fundamental knowledge in engineering science.
Students will also be taken on company site visits. During the first year of the programme, students had the opportunity to visit the Polish factories of major Grenoble INP – Pagora partners Albéa, Amcor, DS Smith, Stora Enso and SWM Intl.
At the same time as the teaching and visits, these three months in Lodz give the apprentices the opportunity to discover Poland, a country at the heart of Europe, its culture and history; Lodz is indeed ideally situated with good links to the country’s other major cities.
All in all a unique, rewarding experience contributing to the training of engineers who will be able to take up society’s challenges with an excellent understanding of the world and the cultures that surround them.
