Goal(s)

Learning outcomes :

  • To know the basics of linear numerical analysis, the basics of non-linear numerical analysis, and their applications (least squares, decomposition into singular values, interpolation, integration of differential equations and PDEs, etc.)
  • To know the algebra bases that make it possible to create matrices whose use makes it possible to solve data representation problems and to provide indications on the solution of differential problems (Matrix calculation; scalar functions of space vector; Line, slope, curvature in space; Gradient, Hessian; Linear and quadratic functions; Taylor development of a vector function; Non-linear algebraic equation systems; iterative method; Newton Raphson method; heuristic methods - gradient only - gradient and Hessian type Newton - unidimensional optimization).
