Goals

Learning outcomes :

  • To understand the mechanical properties of sheet materials made up of an assembly of various sheets based on theoretical elements in paper physics and fibrous structures
  • To know the complexing processes
  • To know the legislations and specifications that govern the suitability for food contact
  • To know the rheological behaviour of complex cellulosic-based materials (responses to the main stresses: compression, traction, bending; bending stiffness of a complex; compression failure of folding boxes and crates; creep of cellulosic structures; load life of American corrugated cardboard crates)
  • To predict the transformation behaviours of sheet materials made up of an assembly of various sheets, using their properties to optimize their manufacture
  • To characterize products of the transformation of fibrous materials

Knowledge on the mechanical and specific properties of multilayer materials
Be able to adapt their properties to the use, to plan their behavior in converting operation and to optimize their manufacturing.

Rheologic behavior of multilayer materials
Answer to the main requests: compression, tensile, flexion.
Forecast of the bending stiffness
Ruin in compression of the folding andr corrugated boxes
