During the 2024/2025 academic year, Yasaman, an Iranian student in the Master Materials Science and Engineering Program Biorefinery and Biomaterials, was the first recipient of the Excellence Scholarship awarded by the Grenoble INP Foundation in partnership with Albéa Tubes France and Grenoble INP - Pagora. This scholarship enabled Yasaman to follow this master’s degree. She tells us how she feels about this year and her career path:

Why did you choose to do the Master's in Materials Science and Engineering in Biorefinery and Biomaterials?
I’ve always been passionate about sustainable and biodegradable materials. During my journey in polymer engineering, I constantly thought about the environmental impact of conventional polymers. At the same time, I love working with polymers, so I wanted to combine both passions, polymers and sustainability. When I discovered the Master's in Biorefinery and Biomaterials at Grenoble INP, it felt like the perfect fit. Thanks to Albéa’s scholarship, I was able to pursue this opportunity in France and take a meaningful step toward a greener future.

How will this Masters course help you in your future career and what are your plans for the future?
This Master's program equips me with both scientific and practical skills to work on bio-based alternatives to fossil-based materials, which is crucial for a sustainable future. My goal is to work in R&D, contributing to eco-friendly product development. I’m confident that this program will be a strong foundation for creating impactful, environmentally responsible solutions.
