Overview
- Degree awarded Master
-
Location
- GRENOBLE Campus
- Duration One semester. From February to June.
Summary
The fiber and biomaterials sector extends from the recovery of biomass (biorefinery, pulp chemistry) to the shaping of materials such as papers, biocomposites or functional materials. Students acquire knowledge on natural fibers, biopolymers, bioproducts and biocomposites: Engineering of paper processes; Valorization of biomass and recycling; Bio-sourced and functional materials. The emerging themes – extraction of molecules from biomass, use of biomass in thermoplastics or thermosets, recycling and the environment ... – are included in the training.
Objectives
Acquire the skills to be key players in the development, manufacture and characterization of fibrous materials, recycling, biorefinery and biomaterials.
Classes are taught in English.
This semester gives rise to a skills certificate.
